Ms. Arti Ahuja, IAS (Retd.), is a distinguished public policy expert and former Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. A 1990-batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Odisha cadre, she brings over 34 years of leadership experience in public administration, health systems, nutrition, social protection, labour, economic policy, and institutional reform.

An alumna of Harvard School of Public Health and Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs, Ms. Ahuja has held several key positions in the Government of India and the Government of Odisha, including Secretary, Labour and Employment; Secretary, Chemicals and Petrochemicals; Additional Secretary, Health and Family Welfare; and Principal Secretary, Health and Women & Child Development. She played a pivotal role in India's COVID-19 public health response, chaired the G20 Employment Working Group during India’s presidency, and led transformative reforms in health, nutrition, social security, and labour governance.

nternationally recognized for her contributions to public policy and nutrition, she has served on the Independent Expert Group of the Global Nutrition Report and has been associated with leading institutions including Harvard University, the World Bank, UNICEF, IFPRI, and University College London. Following her retirement from government service, she continues to serve on several national and international advisory boards and as an advisor to multilateral organizations, contributing to policy innovation and inclusive development.
