  Fraternity Fellowship 2025 is an initiative to support grassroots leaders working with marginalized communities in Odisha and Chhattisgarh in east central India and Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Nagaland in northeast India. The fellowship seeks to uphold and advance the core values of the Indian Constitution - justice, equality, liberty, fraternity, and dignity - through community action and dialogue.

1. Who is eligible for the fellowship?
A. If you are a grassroots leader working with marginalized communities in Odisha and Chhattisgarh in east central India and Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Nagaland in northeast India, you can apply for our Fraternity Fellowship 2025.
 
2. What is the educational qualification required to apply for this fellowship?
A. There is no minimum education qualification required to apply for this fellowship.
 
3. Is the fellowship a time-based or task-based commitment, and can I switch to part-time if tasks are finished early?
A. The requirement is for your full-time presence and engagement throughout the duration of the fellowship, irrespective of how quickly you complete specific proposed work or tasks. It is a continuous, full-time commitment rather than a task-completion basis.
 
4. Can I apply for this fellowship while I am currently pursuing my higher studies, or a student or PhD scholar from an institution in India?
A. No, this will need full-time engagement in the community.
 
5. How can I apply for the fellowship? What is the last date of application?
A. We accept applications only through the prescribed format specified on NFI’s website under Fraternity Fellowship. The deadline for applications is 15th November 2025.
 
6. Will I get a certificate at the end of the fellowship?
A. Yes, you will receive an experience certificate from NFI.
 
7. Is this a paid fellowship?
A. Yes, you will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs. 15,000/- for a duration of 3 years based on annual review of deliverables and performance.
 
8. Will I receive reimbursement for travel and activities in addition to the honorarium?
A. No, standard activities are covered solely by the honorarium. Separate travel reimbursement is only available for organization-requested trainings and interviews.
 
9. Am I eligible to apply if I am already working for another organization?
A. No, this opportunity is exclusively for individuals who are not currently associated with any other organization.
 
10. Who is not eligible to apply?
A.
  • Individuals currently working as full-time employees/consultants with any institution or group.
  • Individuals affiliated to any political group in any capacity.

 
11. Can I select a work location in a state other than my home state?
A. Yes, this is possible, provided that you are already working or engaging in the chosen location, the community knows you, and preferably you belong to the community too, with sufficient exposure and deep understanding of the relevant issues required for the role.
 
12. Can I discontinue the fellowship midway through the term?
A. No. Once you have been selected, you will be required to complete the fellowship for a year.
 
13. When and how will I receive the honorarium?
A. We will start processing your honorarium after submission of the monthly report at the end of every month. Your honorarium will be credited to the bank account under your name. You will be asked to provide us with your bank account details once selected.
 
14. Is this fellowship only for people from SC/ST or Minority communities?
A. The fellowship is open to all, with a preference given to individuals from marginalized communities and women.
 
15. I am not from the mentioned states, but I work with communities in a state specified for the fellowship. Am I eligible?
A. Yes, you may, provided you are residing and working in the same state you have applied for.
 
16. If I currently teach at a school, can I apply?
A. No. The fellowship demands your full-time dedication, which conflicts with a teaching position.
