Rahul is a Dumka based independent journalist and primarily reports on issues related to Environment. Previously, he has worked with several Hindi dailies such as Prabhat Khabar and Deshbandhu. He has also been a fellow of Inter News Earth Journalism Network and Veditum India Foundation. As part of this fellowship, he worked on a report on the impact of Covid on Visceral leishmaniasis (kala-azar) eradication campaign in Santhal Pargana region of Jharkhand. During reporting, he was mentored and supported by senior journalist Ravi Prakash.
