Alishan Jafri is an independent journalist based in Lucknow, and contributes to the Wire, Newsclick and Article 14. He writes on politics, majoritarianism, and communal violence against minorities in India. As part of the fellowship, he published a detailed story on the impact of Meat Ban on poultry farmers and butchers in Uttar Pradesh. In the process of reporting, Alishan was helped and mentored by Seema Chishti.
