Sherfun Nisa is an independent journalist in Kulgam in Kashmir. She has contributed to Rising Kashmir and Free Press Kashmir on social and political issues of the region. As part of the fellowship, Sherfun Nisa published a report on sexual harassment and gender-based violence and its impact on women and girls in south Kashmir.
