Varsha Torgalkar is an independent journalist from Pune, India. She covers public health, rural economy, climate change and travel for many news websites including The Wire, NewsClick, Gaon Connection, The Third Pole. She is a recipient of the Best Article on Humanitarian Crisis conferred by the Press Institute of India and International Committee of Red Cross for 2020. As part of the fellowship, Varsha reported on the lack of essential health services in interior forest villages of Maharashtra.
