Vivek Gupta is an independent journalist living in Chandigarh, and his reports focus on social and political issues affecting the Punjab region.  He has reported for The Indian Express, The Hindustan Times and The Tribune newspapers. As part of the fellowship, Vivek published an investigative report on how financial institutions exploit low income women borrowers, especially Dalit rural women workers in different parts of Punjab.
