Umer Ahmad is a freelance journalist based in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. He writes on Environment, Politics, Governance, Culture, and Tribal communities. His work has been published in The Quint, and the Curtain raiser. He also contributes stories to a leading local daily Kashmir Observer. As part of the fellowship, he published a report on the economic viability of new hydro-electric projects in Kashmir.
